Louis Gilman is the founder and principal of Evolution Private Wealth Management, Inc. He has a diverse background in both legal and financial services fields. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the table, helping answer his clients’ many questions regarding investing, tax planning, estate planning, eldercare resources, and more. In all that he does, he combines his lifelong passion for finance with his desire to improve lives.
After a successful career as an entrepreneur, Louis entered the world of finance as a financial advisor with Ameriprise, followed by Smith Barney. He quickly became frustrated with the inherent biases common at large, publicly-traded firms, where the motto was “profits at all costs.” He instead wanted to focus on serving his clients first and, in order to do so, formed his own firm, Evolution Private Wealth Management, Inc. He manages the practice with the desire to provide flexible financial strategies that can evolve as clients’ needs change over time. While he works with a diverse range of clients, he specializes in serving entrepreneurs, business owners, retirees, women in transition, and professionals. By limiting the number of clients he serves, he can individually address each individual’s complex needs.
Louis holds FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 General Securities Representative securities registrations, as well as life and health insurance licenses. He studied finance and business at American University and Augustana College, and received his Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law. As the recipient of the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® certification, he is held to the highest standards of ethics and responsibility and has advanced knowledge of fiduciary standards of excellence. He is also a multi-year recipient of the Five Star Wealth Manager™ award.
Louis resides in Chicago, Illinois. Outside of the office, he stays active, whether he is flying airplanes, golfing, or working out. He performs improv at Second City and enjoys traveling and experiencing live concerts, shows, and performances.
